Reputation is key in this business – a fact which, however, gives every crook the opportunity to extort money or to exercise some pressure in order to obtain undue advantage. It is the constant practice of all the Corinth companies to not give in to such pressure.
In the past 12 months a group of people has tried to get a ransom of several hundred thousand CHF from a Corinth company for taking down a series of illegal, AI-generated websites which contain completely wrong pieces of information, display personal data, mention alleged employees of the Corinth companies which are absolutely unknown to us, denigrate the Corinth group of companies, mention purported contractual partners which had no contact to us, distort the historical development of the Corinth group, charge persons which were already dead when they should have carried out the respective act, and the like. On demand of the respective Corinth company, some of the websites were taken down by administrative bodies, by private companies or by state agencies, however, some are more difficult to get rid of (p.e. server in Russia). We have refused to pay the ransom.
Instead, we have filed a damage claim for 68 million CHF against Hal-Capital Limited, Will O’Sullivan and Chris Fry (see enclosure). Furthermore, several criminal actions are in preparation based on slander, defamation, disparagement, violation of data protection rules, violation of personal rights, attempts of extortion, unfair competition and infringement of different other legal rules, and this in various countries. Finally, some more civil actions are in preparation in different countries as well.
We will keep you informed of developments.
